Well I was going to blog more on the weekend but things got busier than I expected and here I am on Sunday night doing my one and only post.
What can I report?
A killer leg session ths morning which had me working to my max on lunges even without the weights being heavy. I'm not sure whats going on there? Last year I lunged with heavier weights and whilst it was never easy, I dont remember it being THIS hard. I wonder if I'll have DOMS in my glutes for 3 weeks running?
I have DOMS in my lats for the first time EVER, thanks to Joe's killer back session on Friday. It feels wierd but good I guess. On Saturday I had to do shoulders and bis to make up missing the session last week. I'm a bit all over the place with my weight training and need to work out a new routine allowing for the Friday training with Joe. I need to also step up my cardio. My April training schedule has proved too rigid and its not working so I'll be back to the drawing board for May.
Diet continues to be my biggest challenge and I'm just not applying myself like I should be. There are so many things going through my head, including questioning whether I REALLY want to compete again this year and whether I'm prepared to WORK FOR IT? Can I put my self doubts aside? Have I got what it takes MENTALLY to push through this difficult stage? The answers within me arent sounding very positive right now.

Hooray for back DOMS :)
Hugs
Liz;)
Putting my work hat on ready to dish up some enforced discipline. LOL!!
Now you listen to me young lady, stop doubting and do! Thoughts come and go but your past performances has proven that you can do what's required. Now stop thinking beyond your next meal and your next day and take baby steps Magda. It'll seem a little less over whelming and more achievable.
YOU CAN DO THIS, YOU KNOW YOU CAN! WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS, DO IT NO MATTER WHAT YOU THINK OR DON'T THINK AND JUST GET ON WITH IT. IT IS THAT SIMPLE.
Taking my work hat off now and giving you a virtual hug for support. ;o)

Yes Liz a great, unique feeling.
Thanks Lia your support and encouragement is appreciated. :-)

Magda,
I will join Lia in the tough love brigade...
Your top priorities are your training and your food. Regardless of whether you compete or not you still need to do these well. You still need to build muscle and be in great shape all year round.
Stop thinking about competing and all the associated issues, and start thinking about building a killer bod for life! Once you have that sorted, the competing will be easy if you want to do it.
One other thing, if you have never had DOMS in your back you are not training with enough intensity. You can take this as gospel. Lower your reps, and get some decent weight on the bar girlfriend. If you aren't deadlifiting - start!
Lisa
It really and truly is hard this far out...I'm totally hearing you!
CHARLOTTE recently posted an article on this very thing-Thursday 10 April-(I think)....maybe check it out.
However, I agree with LISA-just concentrate on being healthy and having that killer bod. You're thinking of competing in october right?
I say don't be too hard on yourself now-just make small weekly goals and then see how you feel in July when it comes to the 12 week point. You'll know then if it's meant to be or not.
Good luck!
I agree with the girls.
Focus on making this a lifestyle of eating well and looking fabulous and then the competing part will happen if that is what you want.

Lisa, tonight's post is in response to your first 2 paragraphs. I am currently doing deadlifts (for glute development) and I love them. However I didnt do any last year but still pushed as hard as I could on lat pulldowns (varied grips), assisted chins (varied grips) and seated rows. Alas no DOMS though. So HOORAY to my trainer who now makes sure I will suffer appropriately after each session.
Raechelle I read Charlotte's post and found it be really good. My post tonight will reflect my new approach.
CG I've thought things through and am approaching things a little differently.
Thanks guys
Magda
